Interim Provost

Richard Giardina. was named Interim Provost in April 2008. As provost, Dr. Giardina is NDNU’s senior academic officer with responsibility for all University academic affairs. Dr. Giardina spent 29 years at San Francisco State University where he was, most recently, Associate Vice President for Academic Planning and Assessment. As such, he was responsible for assessment, accountability, accreditation, academic planning, and academic program review. During his years at SFSU, additional responsibilities included oversight over undergraduate studies, graduate education, and international programs. After retiring from SFSU in 2005, Giardina was named an adjunct associate director of the Western Association of Schools & Colleges (WASC), the accreditation body for senior colleges and universities in California, Hawaii, and the Pacific region. Additionally, Giardina serves on the Board of Trustees of the WASC-accredited California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco.  He holds a B.A. degree from Fordham University and a Ph.D. in International Politics from Princeton University.

 

 

Academic Affairs Division

The Academic Affairs Division is responsible for all the curricular programming and related support services of the University. The academic programs are organized into four schools, each headed by an academic dean:

The Academic Affairs Division also includes all the resources of the University that support students throughout their careers here: admissions, financial aid, and registrar, in addition to services listed below. All these administrative offices work collaboratively to offer students the appropriate support to achieve a high standard of academic excellence within the classroom.
